MUSIC FACTORY – USB DECADE 70s & 80s

What looks like the latest hit in terms of “clit vibrator” or something you fill with cocaine and stick up your ass is actually a USB stick. This is filled Attention! with 12 inch Maxi versions (so no remixes or megamixes typical of Music Factory) from a decade (more precisely: the best of 10 years and per decade-release = 425 Individual Tracks inclusive a Bonus Folder with Bonus Tracks, per decade Release). My impression: What makes sense here and what doesn’t?! It makes sense, because there are also “normal DJs” like DJs for weddings, over-30 parties, etc., and they rightly want to have a library that is guaranteed to contain the correct versions in the best quality. That’s the case here (Even more the Original Tracks are Remastered to the Quality-Standart of today). What doesn’t make sense to me: The versions are in WAV format on the original USB stick, which normally means the best quality! But since these aren’t Bach or Mozart, but dance tracks, there shouldn’t be any difference in quality if they are in the best possible compression (e.g., MP3 320 kbps). The advantage then would be that this library should be extremely smaller in file size, because what DJ wants terabytes of data just for… Carrying around a decade’s worth of music? And on top of that, on a separate USB stick that you’d always have to swap with your external hard drive or USB stick. And if the USB stick breaks or gets lost, you’re out of luck. I think that if a DJ buys a decade’s worth of music from Music Factory (125.00 english pounds, by this way) , they’ll copy the content to THEIR system or hard drive/USB stick, and I’m just as sure they’ll compress it beforehand in the best possible quality to have plenty of space for other/new music.

SIDE NOTE: No joke, several playback devices refuse to work with WAV files (the format on the original USB stick) because the data stream is simply too large. On top of that, the quality of the original USB stick leaves much to be desired *I know it*. Perhaps this is Music Factory's new business model: if the stick breaks, you don't get a replacement. Buying a new one would be the only option. What? Do I hate Music Factory? Yes and no. It was one of the first DJ promo pools in the world with DMC. It was so exciting back in the day (80s/90s) to see what crazy remixes or megamixes would be on the next releases (I used to get the latest releases from DMC Germany, and the same with Music Factory). But looking at both of these pools from today's perspective, they only offer 70% bland, boring stuff. (Plus, back then neither pool was as commercial as it is now; promos were only given to select people/DJs, and now anyone can just order anything.) Unfortunately, it seems to me that the passion and the core philosophy have been lost, while the commercial and profit-oriented direction has become much more focused. But that's just my opinion.

SO WHAT DO YOU GET HERE? Seriously (again, just my opinion), you get the better release, namely the original USB stick content, compressed to the highest quality. What’s missing is the USB stick itself, which nobody really needs! This release is exclusive and includes the 70s and 80s Release with total 850 Tracks and Bonus Tracks!
